The High Mountain Road eatery recently opened with a theme out of the 1930s at the end of the prohibition era in the United States.
"Using the history of the building and the town I think really brought this place to life," said Terrell Wilson, owner and executive chef. "That's what sets us apart from a lot of other places."
The restaurant spreads over two stories. On the first floor is a pub feel with chalkboards on the wall for guests to write their name, and live music on some nights.
The second floor stays quieter for a more intiimate setting, General Manager Bridnette Cooper said.
The variety of the menu also sets them apart, Cooper said, as they serve bar food like pulled pork nachos to sushi tuna burgers.
The location at the center of North Haledon helps too, she said.
"It's a nice family neighborhood," Cooper said. "They're kind of like making us a part of the family."
